Cappinator
Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
Cappinator is operated by 1349453 BC LTD. This policy explains how the current Cappinator mobile app processes information when you use it to check a suspicious message, email, call, or situation.
Do not enter passwords, PINs, authentication codes, or full payment card details. Cappinator attempts to remove certain sensitive details before AI analysis, but automated filtering cannot be guaranteed to detect everything.
Information you provide for a check
When you type, paste, or dictate content for analysis, Cappinator processes the text you submit in order to identify warning signs and provide an informational result. Before AI analysis, Cappinator attempts to remove certain detected personal or sensitive details, such as email addresses, phone numbers, payment card numbers, bank account details, addresses, and some government identifiers.
AI processing
The text remaining after Cappinator's filtering step is sent to Google Cloud Vertex AI for automated analysis. Cappinator uses this processing to generate the result shown to you. The application code does not write the raw text of your check to Cappinator application logs or to a Cappinator account database.
Voice input
Cappinator does not store your voice audio. If you use voice input, speech recognition is provided by the speech-recognition service available on your device or platform. That provider may process audio according to its own settings and privacy terms. The resulting transcript is then handled like typed or pasted text.
Recent results stored on your device
Cappinator can save up to 20 recent completed results on your device, together with a short locally scrubbed preview, so you can revisit them. This history is not synced to a Cappinator account or cloud history service. You can clear it from the History screen. Removing the app also removes its local app data, subject to your device and platform settings.
Preferences and consent information
Cappinator stores limited app preferences locally on your device, such as your selected interface language and whether you have completed onboarding or acknowledged first-use information.
Technical information
Cappinator may process limited technical diagnostics needed to operate and troubleshoot the service, such as request identifiers, response status, service errors, and ordinary network metadata handled by hosting or cloud infrastructure. Cappinator is designed not to include the raw text of your check in its application error logs.
Accounts, advertising, and sale of data
The current version of Cappinator does not require an account and does not show advertising. Cappinator does not sell the content you submit for a check.
How information is protected
Cappinator uses encrypted network connections for remote processing and applies technical safeguards intended to reduce unnecessary collection and exposure of submitted content. No security measure or automated sensitive-data filter can guarantee complete protection.
Retention and deletion
- Local check history remains on your device until you clear it or remove the app.
- Cappinator does not maintain a cloud account history in the current version.
- The application code does not intentionally persist submitted check text after the check is processed, although service providers may retain limited operational data according to their applicable terms and configurations.
Service providers
Cappinator uses service providers that may process information on its behalf, including Google Cloud for AI processing and Vercel for application hosting and server infrastructure. Voice input may also involve your device or platform's speech-recognition provider.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Cappinator changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page and, where appropriate, in the app.
